Pale Rider | 1985

An itinerant preacher (Clint Eastwood) helps out prospecting families being harassed by ruthless landowners in a spectacular Western which, though set in California, was mainly filmed around Sawtooth National Recreation Area on on I-75 north of Sun Valley, 756,000 acres of scenic mountain country which encompasses the Sawtooth Wilderness, White Clouds Wilderness, and the Hemingway-Boulders Wilderness areas

The railway scenes use Railtown 1897 State Historic Park, South 5th Avenue, Jamestown in central California. Dubbed the ‘Movie Railroad’ from its appearance in countless films and TV shows, Railtown 1897 is open Thursday to Monday. From April to October, you can take a 6-mile, 40-minute round-trip train ride every hour between 11am and 3pm. It's perhaps most famous from High Noon.

The Gold Rush town, in which Preacher picks up his pistol at the Wells Fargo office, is Columbia State Historic Park, 11255 Jackson Street, Columbia also in central California, and also a featured location for High Noon.
