The Disney-ish Bigfoot fantasy, which spawned the TV series, is set in the Pacific Northwest, where the Henderson family house, ‘437 Manning Drive’, is 4214 Burke Avenue North, between North 42nd and 43rd Streets in Wallingford, a northern suburb of Seattle.
George Henderson (John Lithgow) searches for the missing Bigfoot in Seattle itself, with the trademark Space Needle making its inevitable appearance.
Forest scenes used the area around North Bend, east of Seattle on I-90, the location for David Lynch’s TV series Twin Peaks and film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.
The Hendersons’ campsite is further east on I-90, near Kachess Lake, about 50 miles east of Seattle in the Wenatchee National Forest. The museum of Dr Wrightwood (Don Ameche) is at Index on I-2, to the north.
