In a reversal of the premise of the first film, three of the futuristic apes travel back to the 20th century in this second sequel to the original The Planet of the Apes.
Arriving, conveniently, in Los Angeles, Zira (Kim Hunter) and Cornelius (Roddy McDowall) are treated like celebs and find themselves ensconced in the Beverly Wilshire, 9500 Wilshire Boulevard, at the foot of Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. So, of course, they get kitted out in style. And, of course, this is where Julia Roberts stayed in Pretty Woman.
Zira realises she’s pregnant when she faints while visiting the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, 900 Exposition Boulevard, in the Exposition Park district, south of downtown Los Angeles.
The harbour is, naturally enough, San Pedro Harbor, south Los Angeles.
