Tobias Woolf’s autobiographical story, set in the 1950s, with Leonardo DiCaprio as the young Toby whose life is made hell when his mother Caroline (Ellen Barkin) marries the monstrously tyrannical Dwight Hansen (Robert De Niro).
'Salt Lake City', where Toby and Caroline first settle, is Historic 25th Street, three restored blocks between Wall and Washington Avenues in Ogden, around 40 miles to the north in Utah.
'Seattle', their next stop, is the old Hamilton Bank Building, 1879 Powell Street at Victoria Drive in Port Town, Vancouver.
The small town in which they finally settle is the evocatively-named Concrete, about 100 miles northwest of Seattle, Washington State.
