Robert Altman’s remake of Nicholas Ray’s 1948 They Live by Night was filmed in Mississippi at the towns of Jackson and Canton.
Altman set a trend. Since 1974, the historic downtown district of Canton has hosted productions including John Grisham thriller A Time To Kill, My Dog Skip, with Kevin Bacon, and the Coen brothers' O Brother, Where Art Thou?
