The O'Neals, Ryan and Tatum, real life father and daughter, are Bible-selling con-artists in the US Midwest of the Thirties.
The period-looking towns are Hays, on I-70, about 250 miles west of Kansas City in central Kansas, which served as the film's base; Lacrosse, 30 miles to the south on Route 183; and St George on I-55 just southwest of St Louis, Missouri
Streets scenes were also filmed in Kendall Alley, Pasadena, LA's eastern neighbour, which was also seen in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction.
This is a basic entry and due to be expanded.
