The great Frank Capra was well past his glory days when he filmed Frank Sinatra as a hotel owner trying every trick in the book to stay in business.
The setting is Miami’s South Beach district, and Sinatra’s hotel is the Cardozo Hotel, 1300 Ocean Drive at 14th Street, South Beach, Miami, an art deco gem restored in the Eighties.
The Cardozo got another shot at cinematic fame in Oliver Stone's Any Given Sunday, but hit the jackpot with There’s Something About Mary. Yes, this is where Ben Stiller ‘cleaned the pipes’ and Cameron Diaz picked up some natural hair gel.
Sinatra drives down Hotel Row on Collins Avenue.
