A remake of Jean Renoir’s 1932 classic Boudu SauvĂ© Des Eaux, with Nick Nolte as bum Jerry Baskin who tries to drown himself in the swanky pool of the Whitemans (Bette Midler and Richard Dreyfuss), but ends up causing chaos when he stays on with the family.
Baskin searches for his lost dog in the Rodeo Collection, a swishy shopping mall on Rodeo Drive.
The Whitemans’ house is in the real Beverly Hills for once (it’s so expensive to film here, Pasadena usually stands in) at 802 North Bedford Drive off Sunset Boulevard.
