Bride Of The Monster | 1955
- Locations |
- Los Angeles, California
- DIRECTOR |
- Edward D Wood Jr
Enthusiastic, if not totally perfectionist, auteur Ed Wood Jr, unfairly lumbered with the reputation as the Worst Director of All Time, gives the great Bela Lugosi his last speaking role in this typically crazy nuclear-age sci-fi (originally to have been called Bride Of The Atom). It’s the film with the 'borrowed' fake octopus recreated in Tim Burton’s Ed Wood.
A monster movie filmed in Los Angeles and on a modest budget is inevitably going to be made in Griffith Park. Over the years, this wild area of scrub, hills and valleys northeast of Hollywood has been home to the Robot Monster, the Teenage Werewolf and the terrifying Gargons!.
