Considering the talent involved, this reworking of the werewolf myth in contemporary Manhattan is a bit disappointing.
There are a couple of familiar locations: The estate of Raymond Alden (Christopher Plummer) is Old Westbury Gardens, 71 Old Westbury Road, Old Westbury, on Long Island, which is probably more familiar as the Townsend house in Alfred Hitchcock’s North By Northwest, as well as featuring in Love Story and Cruel Intentions.
Wolf location: the ‘New York’ publishing office: Bradbury Building, South Broadway, downtown Los Angeles
And the publishing company office of Will Randall (Jack Nicholson) isn’t in New York at all, but over on the West Coast in LA. It’s the Bradbury Building, 304 South Broadway at Third Street, downtown Los Angeles, seen in plenty of movies, most famously Blade Runner.
The upscale hotel Randall moves into could be found on New York’s West Side. It was the Mayflower Hotel, which stood at 15 Central Park West and 61st Street, until demolished in 2004. Scenes for Abel Ferrara’s Bad Lieutenant were also filmed in the Mayflower.
