Star Trek: Nemesis | 2002

The gap since the last Star Trek movie (Insurrection in 1998) was an indication that the franchise was running out of steam and, with a relatively poor showing at the box office, it’s the last in the series until JJ Abrams’ total Star Trek reboot in 2009.

The planet 'Kolarus III', on which Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) takes the Argo for a bit of off-roading, and discovers pieces of Data’s prototype, B-4, is one of those planets whose surface looks uncannily like the southern California desert. In fact, it’s the Mojave Desert east of Lancaster, between between El Mirage Dry Lake and the much-used Edwards Air Force Base.
