Dine at: the Butcher and Singer, 1500 Walnut Street, PA 19102 (tel: 215.732.4444)
The Sixth Sense film location: the home of Cole Sear: St Alban’s Place, Philadelphia
Young Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment), troubled by visions of ‘dead people’, lives with his mother Lynn (Tony Collette) southwest of Center City at 2302 St Alban’s Place, St Alban’s Street at 23rd Street.
The more upmarket ‘Locust Street’ home of psychologist Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) is really on Delancey Street at South 20th Street in the, solidly respectable, Society Hill district.
The Sixth Sense film location: troubled Cole retreats to the church: St Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 4th Street, Philadelphia
The church to which Cole retreats is St Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 4th Street at New Street, near the entrance to the Benjamin Franklin Bridge.
The Sixth Sense film location: Crowe joins his wife at the upmarket restaurant: Striped Bass, Walnut Street, Philadelphia
The restaurant, where Crowe keeps an appointment with his wife, Anna (Olivia Williams), was the classy Striped Bass, 1500 Walnut Street, occupying the marble grandeur of a former brokerage house in the centre of town. The restaurant closed shortly after filming but, don’t worry, it lives on as now the Butcher and Singer steakhouse.
