Beverly Hills Cop III filming location: back to the city hall: Beverly Hills City Hall, North Crescent Drive, Beverly Hills

John Landis takes the helm for the second sequel, disowned by virtually everyone involved as a big mistake.

It has all the Landis trademarks: sprawling self-indulgence, great set pieces and oodles of in-joke cameos, this time from a host of movie directors (George Lucas, Joe Dante, Arthur Hiller, Peter Medak... etc). Once again, the cop shop is Beverly Hills City Hall, North Crescent Drive at Santa Monica Boulevard, Beverly Hills.

The ‘Wonderworld’ amusement park is Paramount’s 100 acre theme park, the California's Great America, Great America Parkway, Santa Clara, in the South Bay area south of San Francisco.

The ‘Alien Attack’ ride, however, is the Earthquake attraction on the Universal Studio Tour, Universal Studios, 100 Universal City Plaza just off the Hollywood Freeway.

Beverly Hills Cop III filming location: the security agents convention: Millennium Biltmore Hotel, 506 South Grand Avenue, downtown Los Angeles

The ‘Private Security Agents Convention’, where camp gallery owner Bronson Pinchot, from the original Beverly Hills Cop, turns up selling the Annihilator 2000, filmed in a location which also featured in first film. It’s the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, 506 South Grand Avenue, downtown Los Angeles, previously featured as the ‘Beverly Palms’.

The suspect truck, which turns out to be empty, is discovered by Santa Monica Pier. The snooty bar where Foley is recognised as Uncle Dave’s shooter, is on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, with the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in the background.
